Travel update - Morocco
Hey all 👋
Before we get in to the latest post, we figured we’d give you all a quick update on our current travel plans. As some of you may know we were planning to head to Marrakech on the 11th of September, just three days after the devastating earthquake rocked the city and surrounding area, resulting in the death of thousands and destruction of buildings new and old.
We were assured by our tour operator that we’d be safe to continue, however we were unable to contact our accomodation we were set to stay at before the tour started. With this in mind, and to avoid placing unnecessary burden on the communities and infrastructure there, we cancelled our flights and the tour.
For now we’re spending a little more time in the UK - Brighton, followed by a bit more time in London. However, not wanting to take all our tourist money away Morocco, we’re still going there - to the northern, unaffected cities. On the 17th we fly out to Fes, and pick up our original itinerary on the 21st. Stay tuned for stories of our travels in Morocco in the coming weeks!
You will note this isn’t the long-awaited 6th blog-post, as we wanted to let everyone know we’re safe and sound before continuing with our regular scheduled programming. However, fear not! Our next post is right around the corner. We’ll send out blog #6 shortly which covers our time in Ireland, followed closely by #7 covering Scotland and the, frankly quite hectic, days leading up to our flight to Morocco.
Lots of love,
Jamie & Baylee
